Ferrari is consecrated by Gambero Rosso Guide
Ruben Larentis is oenologist of the year, Ferrari Perlé Nero is awarded “Tre Bicchieri“ and Giulio Ferrari the “Tre Bicchieri Plus“
The Cantine Ferrari is a great success in Gambero Rosso’s Guide “Vini d’Italia 2011” because the oenologist of the year is one of the oldest collaborators of the Ferrari winery and because two Ferrari labels obtained the “Tre Bicchieri” (Three Glasses), which represents the highest recognition, while one label was awarded the “Tre Bicchieri Plus”. But let’s start in order.
Ruben Larentis, 50, a pure-blooded Trentino who graduated from the Agrarian Institute of San Michele all’Adige and is Cantine Ferrari’s production manager, was proclaimed “Oenologist of the year.” Larentis has been working with Ferrari since 1986 and he is the expression of that splendid nursery that found in Mauro Lunelli, for almost forty years the principal oenologist of the Ferrari winery, a maestro who knew how to hand down knowledge. A maestro who had created, long ago in 1972, the sparkling wine which today is acclaimed the most awarded Italian wine ever; the Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2001 vintage has won the Gambero Rosso Guide’s highest recognition, namely the “Tre Bicchieri”, for the nineteenth time (no other label has ever beaten this record). This year, the wine was awarded the “Plus”, a special mention that the Director, Daniele Cernilli, has attributed to about thirty wines in all. As testimony of Ferrari’s excellence the “Tre Bicchieri” were also awarded to the Perlé Nero 2004, a pure Pinot Nero presented just two years ago.
